About Meg
Meg Abbott is originally from the Athens area and is excited to be serving her hometown! She graduated with a Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University in 2015. Meg became a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia in 2019 and a registered and board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC) in 2020.
Passionate about empowering children, adolescents, and adults to express themselves and heal through their own creative process, Meg incorporates several modalities when practicing art therapy and counseling, including CBT, narrative, mindfulness, and client-centered approaches. She seeks to help every client identify and use their unique strengths to experience empowerment and create meaning in their lives.
Meg is passionate about community, social justice, and art. In her spare time, she likes to make art, cook healthy recipes, watch comedies, and spend quality time with loved ones and friends.
Meg is also a National Board Certified Counselor and is certified in MBCT. She is a member of the American Art Therapy Association and the Georgia Art Therapy Association.
